Default Need recommendations for returning to hobby

Hey all. I have been out of the hobby since 2014. I have a goblin 380 kit I am about to build. I need recommendations for which FBL and tx. Back when I flew before it was with a spektrum. I have no brand attachment so would be ok switching to another brand for the tx. I left the hobby in my hovering and starting basic forward flight phase. I want to put a cart together on one of the online retailers with all things I need. Looking to do mostly hovering and sport flight until I am comfortable and then some 3D. Thank you for any and all help.

You can not go wrong with any system tx wise, just need to decide how many channels you want/need, I prefer spektrum for the bind and fly models but you can also use just the sattelite reciever for some smaller models like the OMP M2, which makes it a lot cheaper not buying a full size RX.. FBL system well their are a lot of good choices there, personally I fly micro beast because like you just getting back into flying and thats what I had when I stopped. They can be tuned at the field with the leds lights and dials no need for a laptop.

microbeast flys good but its old tech.. get something modern like ikon2/brain2 and scorpion or yge-t esc's then you can have telemetry.
may as well start with modern stuff. some of it can be tuned right from the tx like vcontrol and jeti, there might be others.

you should take a look in the goblin 380 forum to see what everybody else is using in their 380.. its easier than asking, its already there

I fly the Goblin 380 with:
The BK Servos recommended for the swash & tail,
MSH Electronics Brain2 mini with the Bluetooth adapter,
Castle Creations Edge Lite 75,
Spektrum SPM4651T + 1 satellite (like the SPM4645 or the SPM4745),
And I use a DX9 or the iX12 for the transmitter (any gen2 or newer will get you telemetry).

That will get you (pretty much) the easiest to setup FBL with a boat-load of telemetry (like mA consumed - aka: battery fuel gauge).

almost the easiest to set up.. i have an ikon2 as well as vcontrol.. imo the vcontrol is easier but i have to say the ikon2 has the best manuals and instructions, right in the setup menu on the pc.

theres a little more wiring needed for the telemetry with ikon2 than vcontrol, but thats ok as it really works great
