3 lipo packs made up and tested.

Still waiting for the rpm sensor, Christmas post is appalling. Also found the tail dampeners are shot so replacing those. Pre Christmas maiden still possible…

Nearly there! Brushless RPM sensor fitted and works perfectly. Brain2 picks it up and now set up the gov in the brain. All wiring finished, all packs ready, just waiting for new tail dampeners but may stick the old ones on for a test.

Max RPM on the bench is 4600, but keeping it at 3000/3500/4000 for the minute.

Finished . Still undecided on the landing gear and how much difference it’ll make. Also need to decide how I’m actually going to measure the speed. 2 options really, a gps data logger or swap receiver to a SPM8020T and get the Spektrum GPS module. But maiden and testing needed first.

Update

Still no maiden, it's been raining all day . However the 'speed' issue has been decided upon. Decided to use a SkyRC GNSS receiver. I know GPS isn't the best due to the update speed, but this does 10hz so should be ok for an indication.

Mounting it was the problem, simply nowhere as it stood to fit. So fired up Fusion360 and made and printed a rear cover plate and holder. Should be strong enough for testing although might redesign to use the bottom frame screws. The holder is 3M taped to the plate.

Got the GPS, fits nicely although the clips are useless so I put some 3M tape on it before I pushed it in holder. Pretty secure now.

I’ve read it can only export in ‘Drag’ mode. Not sure if can use that. I’ll try when I get some flying weather.
