Default Gyro Problem with Blade 400

The manual says the pot isn't supposed to work to adjust the gyro, instead the gyro switch on the DX6i is supposed to adjust it. I'm getting the opposite. The pot does adjust the gyro and the gyro switch does nothing regardless or what the switch positions are set to. It tries 9, 25, 50, and 75 and nothing makes an iota of difference.

Is there a setting somewhere to tell the gyro to use the switch settings rather than it's internal pot?

To enable control from the transmitter you're just supposed to have to connect the single yellow wire to I believe channel 5 on the receiver. If that's disconnected you're in heading hold mode and the pot adjusts the gain. If it's connected then the pot is supposed to be disabled.

If you have the single wire connected and it's still not working then I'd verify you've got signal coming out of that channel by connecting a servo to it and flipping the switch back and forth.

Better don't waste your time with old / outdated gyros.

I was not too happy with the newer Eflite G210 from the 4503D because the few maiden flights were a nightmare (tail goes left, next lipo to the right, sometimes a drift, next time not).
No fun at all!

We paddle flyers seem to be a dying species, so at least use a working / modern gyro.

HH has already discontinued all flybar head parts incl. shaft, spindle & Co.

Have to agree with Thomas.Heiss. Ditch the original Gyro and even the one for the 4503D. Get a Spartan Quark or similar. All the old threads on here are spot on. Dont waste your time. Even perfectly set up originals are not a patch on the Spartan or some of the others.
