Do you think that is the modification we need to do to the radio to fix the obvious problem?

Default Because it overrides throttle stick position

I think the explanation is quite simple (or maybe I'm quite simple... ). We call it "throttle hold" because the customary way to use it is to program it to low throttle (zero for electric, idle for nitro). However, the important consideration is that it can be programmed to any value and when it is engaged, it overrides the throttle stick position. It could potentially be programmed to a value well above zero throttle. The rationale is that the radio requires you to have both low throttle stick and any programmable mode that can override the low stick position disabled before it will establish a connection with the receiver.

That's a good point. I wonder if you reprogrammed your TH curve to be 0 at low throttle if the warning would not occur with the switch on. I'll bet it wouldn't.

Maybe because you can decide hold position by yourself. Default is -5.0%, but you can easily set it to 50.0%.

Still gives a warning. It's just saying, "Hey, I'm not going to start up with a function engaged that overrides the low throttle stick position." Or in other words, "I'm not going to decide whether the override setting on the throttle hold function is safe."

What? Your transmitter doesn't talk to you? Ohhh... That must also explain the voices in my head.

OTOH, the Tx can be turned on with the throttle stick at full throttle.

right, if I re set up all of my t-curves such that they are all 100% across the board, the tx will still start with throttle hold "off". Not much of a safety...

Three emails to HH and still no response from them. Strange, because I have always gotten speedy responses from them.

I like the alarm on the hold.

When I turn the TX on, I listen for the alarm and clear it by a quick flip of the switch back and forth. This way, I know for sure that the switch is in the correct position for hold before I begin powering on my heli. (I also use the low throttle stick in norm for extra protection)

Yes it's stupid and reversed. Forcing pilots to turn *off* throttle hold is very strange when you look at it from a safety perspective.
From a software developers perspective it makes sense: the TX should beep when any mixes or switches are 'active'. It's time to change the requirements...
