Angry Fut. T6EX New R617FS not binding

I bought a T6EX a few months ago, it came with the R607FS rec. two week ago I ordered a R617FS rec. can't get it to bind sent back got another R617FS it will not bind either. Talk to Fut. they said "You may have to push on one side of the button or the other. You may also have to push a little harder than you would think" I have push all over it it will not bind. Helidirect said the one I sent back works fine. Fut. said sent your trans. and the new rec. to the service center to have it repaired I told them it binds fine with the other 2 R607's that I have, no problem. Has anyone had any problems like this? It seems to be when they changed from the R607 FS to the R617 FS is where the problem is Fut. said that If YOU can't get it to bind send it to us like it's me that can't get it to work.

You found out one of the poor planning ideas Futaba had with this radio. I bought one just as they were coming out and only found out later that ONLY the R606FS would work with this radio and not the higher channel count receivers. Later on they came out with the 606's replacement, the 607 that I believe IS compatible with the 7C, but 7C, 10C, etc rx's won't work with the 6EX. At least that's my understanding of it all. Luckily my Xmtr didn't (yet?) have the zero GUID problem and I was able to get excellent discounts on the overpriced radio kit and a spare rx.

I am having the same problem binding my R617FS to my 6EX. I can bind to four others successfully. Did you ever get this resolved?

Thanks for the quick reply.

How exactly did you manage to get it to bind to your T6EX?

No still have it and it works with the 607 but not the 617 I bought a T7C and thought about sending the 6EX back to Fut.The T7C works with all of them.

OK, thanks. It looks like it's time to upgrade to a 7C and/or send my 6EX back to Futaba for a replacement. It's strange that I got it to bind initially, but then lost the binding on all of my receivers when I had accidentially left my transmitter on completely draining the battery. I was able to re-bind four other receivers (606s and 607s), but not the 617.

Default Futaba Post

This is what they said.

We have found that some of the receivers are touchier than others as far as the button when linking them.

We have found that we need to press either end or directly in the middle portion of the button on some. This is not specific to any particular receiver, but I have just kept retrying different areas on the button until I get it.

If you have tried different a few times and cannot manage to get the correct spot, then yes, I would suggest sending this in to the service center.

Sincerely,
